CALENDAR OF EVENTS
The calendar of events in St. Peter-Ording is full to bursting: Every day, various leisure activities are offered for the whole family – from a trip to the Westerhever lighthouse with the Hitzlöper to amber grinding and yoga on the beach. At the reception you can get a calendar of events with an overview of all activities.
DÜNEN-THERME
Approximately 300 meters from the ambassador hotel & spa is the Dünen Therme. The leisure and adventure pool offers its visitors a wave pool and, among other things, a turbo slide with a trap door. The landmarks of SPO can also be found here: The highlight of the spacious sauna area is the pile dwelling sauna with sea view.
BOAT EXCURSIONS
Watch seals in the wild or explore the Halligen? View the famous Eider Barrage from the ship and meanwhile explore the beautiful North Sea and its inhabitants? No problem with the boat trips you can take during your vacation in St. Peter-Ording. Only a stone’s throw away from SPO (approx. 20 minutes by car) the excursions already start at Tönninger harbor.
WADDEN SEA SPO PROTECTION STATION
The nature conservation society Schutzstation Wattenmeer e.V. is a private association founded in 1962. Their goal is to awaken understanding and fascination for the “Wadden Sea ecosystem” and the North Sea through their diverse activities, and thus to increase protection and conservation readiness for these habitats. Throughout the year there are many events, such as the mudflat walks. Enjoy the North Sea under expert guidance while helping to protect it.
PLAYGROUNDS IN SPO
SPO has several playgrounds in the town and on the beach. Probably the most beautiful is located directly on the adventure promenade including a hedge labyrinth, water playground and many seating areas from which you can easily overlook the play area.
WEST COAST PARK
This is home to the largest seal facility in Germany. The water in the Robbarium comes directly from the North Sea. Besides seals, you can meet many other animals in the West Coast Park such as giant tortoises, sea eagles, free-roaming alpacas and many more. Every day you can watch the feeding of the different animals. The clever seals also show a trick or two to earn your fish. Young visitors can let off steam to their heart’s content on the generously designed playgrounds.
